Life Isn't All Rainbows and Unicorns in the Land of Glee!

I was surprisingly impressed with the latest episode of Glee especially with it's ridiculous title I am Unicorn! I was into the episode from start to finish! Starting from the wonderful intro of Brittany offering to be Kurt's campaign manger to everything coming full circle with her ending up running against Kurt by the end of the episode. And that's not the only thing not going Kurt's way; it looks like his boy toy Blaine unknowingly be stealing the lead away from in the school's production of West Side Story.

We also see the return of Rachel's mom (Idina Menzel) and it looks like she'll be a decent part of this Season and she is teaching part time and McKinley. From the looks of things this looks like it's going to be a pretty drama filled Season with Rachel reconnecting with her Mom and Quinn and Puck fighting to get full custody of their daughter.

As always I really enjoyed how the show dives into understanding yourself and  figuring your identity at such a tumultuous time in one's life. It's so well done and I appreciate the effort they put into it. I feel like it makes for both heartwarming and heartbreaking moments. Chris Colfer just commands the screen  this episode and it's so intriguing to watch him strive to play a part that is so manly in the musical and being frustrated by never being considered as the type to play that kind of role.

As promised so far the show has kept it's promise so far of focusing more on plot and less on musical numbers with only three numbers an episode. And although it's only two episodes in I'm pretty impressed they've lasted this long! So I give this unique Unicorn of an episode an A+ for keeping a promise and delivering!

What did you guys think??

The Original American Idol Makes New Music!

Kelly Clarkson has returned with her new single "Mr. Know It All" off of her upcoming album Stronger.  In the video Kelly finally addresses all of the criticism she has received in the media over the past few years.

I love the idea behind the song and the video, however, the only disappointing thing about the vid is that it's shot in a way that disguises Clarkson's 'bodacious bod' with close ups from the shoulders up and distance shots. It's clear this is done in a way to hide her 'curviness'. This is something we often see done with Adele who is another beautiful, bigger woman. It's no wonder that girls and women in today's society still form body issues. It's a shame that after all the progress in Entertainment over the year that this still happens. Alright, alright...I'm done. Enjoy the music!

Taylor Lautner Doesn't Take Any Bull!

The Twilight stud turned action star stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to promote his new film Abduction which also star Sigourney Weaver and Lilly Collins and to also ride a mechanical Bull.  In the film Lautner goes on the run after  discovering his life isn't quite what he thought it was.  Directed by John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood) the action flick looks like a lot fun despite it's lackluster reviews! Check out the trailer here.

Glee's Season Three Opener...Kinda Beat!

It seems like it's always difficult to come back after a long Summer break; back to work, back to school it's always a challenge, and I feel like that is exactly what a lot of tv shows deal with when retuning as well. Surprisingly, my anticipation for Glee's return grew (probably because I didn't see the tour or the movie). I was especially looking forward to it since it is the final season for a lot of the show key characters (Rachel, Finn, Quinn, Mike and Kurt) so I'm interested to see where their stories go. So how did the musical underdogs of McKinley make their return??

The FOX hit show came back with a bang...or a beat rather! The show made it's return through the lens of Jason Ben Israel the schools gossip source. Just like last season's opener we find out what the Glee Club have been up to. I must admit that although it was fun last Season when the it lacked the punch of energy and fun it possessed last year. This time it just seemed to be a device to easily fix a lot of the flaws that existed last season and clear up some rumors/make fun of whose staying on and whose leaving the show.

There tons of great storylines for this Season with Sue running for public office and threatening to cut all public arts programs putting her and Will even more at odds and at one another throats. This Season also has Will and Emma living together which comes a a big surprise since we never r really even saw them date. We also have Quinn returning to school as this bitchy badass outsider after her rough past couple of years of school which I'm not quite buying yet but kudos Glee for trying something new. Lastly, for those of you who have closely followed the show have been expecting, Blaine has left Dalton to join the rest of the Glee kids at McKinley. I liked him as a Warbler and he just seems too animated outside of his sports coat but maybe it'll just take some getting use to.

The episode Purlple Piano Project revolved around the group being forced to perform any time they saw one of the purple piano's around campus that were donated from foreclosed homes. Yeah...kind of a silly concept but it was pretty fun.  We got to see some great performances of "We Got the Beat" and a fun closing number of "Can't Stop the Beat."  The best part of the episode however was the great connection between Rachel and Kurt who as of the end of last season have bonded over pursuing their dream to be on Broadway. Their situation is so relatable since we all a dream that we're trying to achieve.  My favorite scene from the ep is when they go to scope out the competition in downtown Ohio and run into Harmony, played by the super talented Lindsay Pearce, one of the finalist from The Glee Project. The show followed the journey of a group of contestants  trying to be on this Season of Glee and went behind the scenes of the auditioning process. Seeing how the rest of the winners from the show will be incorporated into the season will definitely make Glee fun to watch this Season.

Unfortunately, this wasn't a great episode, I give it a C. However, although there are bad episodes of the show they are often trumped by the ones that are great and I look forward to those this Season cuz you can't stop the beat and you CAN'T stop this show!

So Demi Lovato May Be My New Favorite Person....EVER

As some of you may know, the 19-year-old Disney star has had a tough couple of years.  Struggling with to deal with issues such a bullying and being criticized for weight going on in her life Lovato finally checked herself into a rehab facility and is now back and better than ever!  She'll be on Ellen this Tuesday talking about her journey to the place in her life where she's at now; stating,
"There's a need to be a role model out there and for the first time in my life, I feel like one."
I have such respect for her for speaking out like this. Being in the spotlight is hard enough without adding something like this to your plate. I really hope to see more good things for this wonderful and bright star and am looking forward to her upcoming album Unbroken coming out next week. Check out her cover of Lil Wayne's "How to Love" at The Hammerstein Ballroom.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Loves a Good Rush!

So this looks AWESOME!! So man of you may have seen a pic floating around a while back of JGL riding a bike and also hearing that he got some serious bumps and bruises while filming an upcoming movie. Well the trailer said film, Premium Rush is FINALLY here. Here's the synopsis:

Dodging speeding cars, crazed cabbies, open doors, and eight million cranky pedestrians is all in a day's work for Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), the best of New York's agile and aggressive bicycle messengers. It takes a special breed to ride the fixie -- super lightweight, single-gear bikes with no brakes and riders who are equal part skilled cyclists and suicidal nutcases who risk becoming a smear on the pavement every time they head into traffic.
But a guy who's used to putting his life on the line is about to get more than even he is used to when a routine delivery turns into a life or death chase through the streets of Manhattan. When Wilee picks up his last envelope of the day on a premium rush run, he discovers this package is different. This time, someone is actually trying to kill him.

I'm really intrigued by the concept of this film. What do you guys think??

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent: Looks A LOT like Tom Welling!

While we've seen a ton of photos of  our new Superman, Henry Cavill sporting his extremely tight Superman suit we now finally get to see him as the geekier Clark Kent (which isn't all that geeky). Also released were a few pics of the new Daily Planet; the newsroom where Kent works and were a lot of action takes place in the story of Superman. I think the new DP looks AWESOME. The other thing I found really funny about these pics of Cavill as Kent is how extremely similar he looks to another Superman actor; Tom Welling. For those of you not addicted to the CW anymore (which is probably many of you since is not the early 2000's anymore) Welling played Kent/Superman on the series Smallville which just ended this past year after a pretty healthy run on the network. Despite the fact that there is sort of distinct look set for the character I feel as though there have always been some subtle difference in appearance between the 'Men of Steel' but these two really look the most alike of any, but maybe I'm wrong! Just thought it was fun to point that out.  What do you guys think??

'We Bought A Zoo' Trailer!

So ok, I have to admit when I first heard the title of this song I though, "Wow this sounds lame." Even with Matt Damon attached this didn't sound like something worthwhile. But thanks to this trailer for proving me WILDLY wrong! Coming to us from director Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, Jerry McGuire) We Bought a Zoo details the one family's journey that would be hard to believe if this actually wasn't based on true events. The movie comes out this Holiday season. What do you guys think??

*And for those of you not sold on Matt Damon or this incredible story Scarlett Johansson is also in it!

Zooey Deschanel Cover 'New York' Magazine: Has the Bluest Eyes I've EVER Seen!

Recently the actress/singer sat down with New York magazine and chatted about a number of things; including on how she often gets mistaken for Katy Perry!

“I literally met her twice six years ago. It’s a strange relationship to have with somebody. I probably answer more questions about her than about my own family.”
Also, you can catch Zooey on her new show New Girl premiering on FOX Sept. 20th after Glee! The more promos I watch for the show the more I think I'm going to like it! She is just so darn charming!  What do you guys think??
